When do urges hit you?

Dangerous Times — by hour of day. Tap the red button when an urge hits you and we’ll bin it into a time of day. If you keep logging them, the data will build up over time and the dangerous stretches become obvious. Rename or re-time the bins to match your life. Also — did you know about the urge surfer?

Customize your bins

Each bin counts urges that fall in its hour range. Ranges can overlap (each urge falls into the first bin it matches). End time is exclusive (e.g. 5–10 means 5:00 through 9:59).

Log from your phone in one tap

To easily do this throughout the day and get some good data, you can set it up to log from your phone in one tap. Here’s how:

Add a shortcut to your home screen. Tapping the icon opens this page and logs an urge automatically — no typing, no thinking.

iPhone / Safari

  1. Open the link below in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share icon (square with arrow).
  3. Scroll and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Name it “Log urge” and tap Add.

Android / Chrome

  1. Open the link below in Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu (top right).
  3. Tap Add to Home screen.
  4. Confirm. Done.

The shortcut logs an urge when opened, then shows this page so you can see the pattern. A confirmation message gives you 4 seconds to undo if it was a mistap.
