Quitting · After soft-launch
Cool, but not urgent
Stuff that’ll add depth and polish, but doesn’t block soft launch. Items get pulled into “On your desk” on /working/ when they’re ready to be picked up.
Needs fix or kill
-
Let It Pass — broken
/let-it-pass/ (Background Noise v4.1, defusion mechanic). Jon flagged: not working right. Removed from /relax/ until fixed. Either repair or kill.
New widgets & pages to build
-
G4 · Cravings curve — own page, centered text DONE ✓
From Design Review 2026-05-18. Lift the cravings-curve plate out of the showcase, give it its own page, center the text so it reads cleanly. Likely
/cravings-curve/. -
G7a · Weekday schedule (field journal)
Field-journal block-plan plate. “Seems good if usable” — pull out of showcase, ship as a standalone tool/print.
-
G7b · Non-workday schedule (open day)
Sister plate to G7a. Open-day block-plan with the “evenings + weekends are the hard part” spine. Ship alongside G7a.
-
G8 · Drink Bingo (print version)
Pop-culture drink-trope bingo, 5x5 print sheet. Once-you-see-the-tropes-you-can’t-unsee-them mechanic. Ships as a printable.
-
G18 · Russian-Nyet Entry — A vs B
A/B entry-card variant from Design Review. Decision-point widget — pull out, give it its own page once Jon decides between the two layouts.
-
Break Glass merch — coming-soon stub DONE ✓
Placeholder t-shirt page at /merch/. Coming-soon stub now; real product later.
-
Pledges on the site
Let members make a pledge (a day, a week, a month, “forever”) and surface it on their dashboard. Public anonymized count somewhere. Mechanic, copy, and visibility to be designed.
-
“Clearly insane things that became completely normal” — community submission
Community-fed gallery of the absurd-in-retrospect drinking decisions. Example: “Months of planning, thousands on airfare, paradise location — and night one is drinking the same booze I drink at home in the hotel room.” Could fit with the “what to get rid of” chapter, or stand on its own as a community submission tool. More than a blog post — the punch is in the volume of examples. Jon flagged this as a possible Field Notes future piece too.
Polish & depth
-
Champion-win tracking on Colosseum dashboard
Replace the “Win counts coming soon” placeholder on the dashboard’s “From the Arena” card. Needs an
aysos-leaderboardworker extension — POST champion text on tournament end, GET counts by text to display alongside the user’s saved champion. -
“In rotation” status flip for user-submitted comebacks
When Jon approves a comeback in /pulse/, the action should write back to the submitter’s MemberState so their dashboard flips from “Pending review” to “In rotation.” Same worker session as champion-win tracking — piggyback when that work happens.
-
D7 / D24 Pulse master panel
Wave-2 admin overview at /pulse/: tool ranking + traffic across the first 7- and 24-day cohorts. Useful once there’s actual usage to bin.
-
Map of Quit — per-day pros/cons breakdown
The claim list at /map/ is already day-windowed. A claim-by-claim “what shifts on day N” hover/expand is polish that adds nice depth without changing the model.
-
Urge Surfing reskin DONE ✓
Design brief written. Figure (bottom-left) + wave (above) redesign in a blue→red gradient palette. Slider granularity finer in the active band. Send to Claude Design when ready.
-
404 page polish
Current 404 has Jon’s copy + map/halt/home links. A nicer illustration (lost-traveler / signpost) would be a small lift.
-
MI Letter — follow-up question layer
Planned collaborative follow-up question layer on the MI letter tool. Builds on whatever the user wrote with a single thoughtful next question.
-
The Sober Trail — maybe
From Design Review. Parked — revisit after soft launch to decide if it earns its keep.
Housekeeping
-
What’s New tools page
Needed once tools ship faster. Lives at /whats-new/. Stub now, real page when there’s a steady drip of new widgets.
-
Announcements
Short site-news posts. Lives at /announcements/. Separate from /blog/ — this is for “the X tool is live,” not essays.
-
Table of Contents (from manuscript)
Jon’s personal reference at /toc/. Living TOC pulled from Ulysses; not public-facing, just useful when sectioning.
